Westminster Drug Project – Drug and Alcohol Charity
Westminster Drug Project is a charity supporting those who have a dependency on drugs and/or alcohol. The support offered is not only to the dependants but also to their families and surrounding communities. Their services are delivered on behalf of local authorities, with 22 centres across London and the South East of England.
document.scanning.net were approached in 2009 as a need had arisen within WDP for the financial records to be digitised. As with any modern organisation, administration creates a tremendous volume of paper, particularly in a “people based” organisation such as WDP. The “Financial Records” project was completed and continues on an annual basis.
Following the Financial Records project, WDP approached document.scanning.net with a separate requirement for the scanning of their client files. Due to the highly confidential nature of these files, document.scanning.net with high UK Government Security clearance was the perfect choice as each employee has signed both a Non-Disclosure Agreement and The Official Secrets Act.
The service has been extended to a growing number of the local centres, where the indexing and scanning are carried out to a common standard but with additional identifiers, thereby ensuring that any consolidation of records in the future will be unlikely to cause duplicates.
