Drawing and Plan Digitisation

Although they may be large and cumbersome to deal with, plans and drawings are created in the size that they are for very good reasons. When constructing a building or redeveloping a property or even designing a boat, it’s important to capture all the intricate details of the project so that every team member and potential buyer is clear about what’s involved. However, access and storage of such large drawings can be challenging.

Many businesses have now become aware of how much easier it is to digitize their large format plans. It makes them easier to use, distribute and access. Paper plans can get damaged the more they are used. However, once they are digitised they are easier to manage, view and even edit. Scanning companies have large drawing scanners that are designed specifically to handle large documents of the type that engineers and architects use. Although the scanning may be a slow process, it’s very accurate and relatively easy.

If you have drawings that are either hand drawn or you do not have access to the original files, we can convert the scanned images to a CAD format. The documents can be converted to a 2 dimensional CAD format such as DXF and DWG using a mix of software and human Tracing. This service can be offered on a fix price per sheet basis whjch is dependant on the size of the drawing.

If you are interested in digitising your drawings and plans, it’s a good idea to ask for a sample in order to view what’s possible.

Once the scan has been completed, you will receive your files on a disc. You will also receive the original drawings. Once you are happy then they can either be destroyed or recycled.

Conversion of CAD to digitisation is the only way to be able to edit and restore them to their original quality. It can not only save vast amounts of time, but also storage space.

Our service is highly accurate and will convert your paper plans to data in no time. Call for a quote.
